Introduced by Dolly, Inc. the product was designed by a team led by Jon Daugherty, Creative Director. We were challenged by our buyer at Toys R Us to create an ocean-themed mobile loaded with features. Babies love the lights and motion. said Daugherty. We designed the fish to glow in the dark and they swim for 10 minutes, and can be restarted with the remote control.

Mobiles are safe for use in cribs until the baby can sit upusually about 5-months of age. Parents want products that are safe and a good value. Daugherty said. Babies love the fish bowl and the music and hate to give it up when removed from the crib. We designed this to have longer use by being able to remove only the mobile arm and replace it with a night light.

Audio sounds are important to the healthy development and happiness of babies and the Calypso mobile has a choice of three sounds: a steel-drum calypso-style melody, a classical lullaby, or soothing ocean sounds to calm baby at bedtime. We also included a volume control, which parents appreciate said Daugherty.

When the mobile is no longer used in the crib, the fish can be used as bath toys and are machine washable. The product has a suggested retail of $39.99 and is available in Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores nationwide. Further information is available at www.dolly.com.
